The Worcester Center for Performing Arts, Inc. (WCPA), a not-for-profit corporation, has retained the services of the WBDC for the renovation and restoration of the former Loew's Poli Palace Theatre into a first-class 2300-seat performing arts center. This historic building is located at 2-16 Southbridge Street in Federal Square; the heart of the city's Arts District. Together with industry, business and government leaders, the WCPA is dedicated to returning the theatre to its original glory and helping to revitalize and enrich the city of Worcester. The restored state-of-the-art center will be equipped to present large scale Broadway shows, concerts, music recitals, dance, comedy acts and other special events by internationally known artists. The renovated theatre will create a vibrant performing arts resource for civic events, arts organizations, the city's colleges, and the Performing Arts School of Worcester; and enhance the city's Arts District by restoring a historically and architecturally significant building and offering an important cultural destination point.
